Wessex Area AGM

Harvest Supper

We camp in the field right behind the Weyhill Fair pub, which is about 3 miles west of Andover. The site opens at 2pm on Friday, and closes on Sunday.

The pub serves good food and good beer (including Fullers and Gales).

What’s on

Friday Evening

From 8:00pm on Friday, there will be a get-together in the Weyhill Fair pub for a chance to chat, play and sing.

AGM & Members Meeting

The Wessex Area AGM will now take place online on Saturday 17th April, starting at 2pm. More details about this are provided on our News Pages. Current Wessex members have also received an email including these details.

The AGM will be followed by a Members Meeting.

American Tea

Wessex Area Harvest Supper

On Saturday evening we will be holding an ‘American Tea’ starting around 5pm. Please bring a plate of your favourite food to share with the group.

Our annual Harvest Supper is being held on Saturday Evening in the Fairground Hall, which is a short walk from the site.

Our annual Harvest Supper is being held on Saturday Evening in the Fairground Hall, which is a short walk from the site. This year we will be having a fish and chip supper, which you will need to book in advance.   This will be followed by a bring-and-share pudding!

We will be sitting down at 5:30pm with the aim of eating at 6:00pm. Please bring your own condiments and sauces for dinner so you can doctor it to your own tastes.

We will also be holding a raffle in aid of our nominated charity for the year – the Castle School in Newbury. Please bring along any prizes you wish to donate, along with some change for buying raffle tickets!

The menu options are:

  • Fish and Chips – £8.50
  • Chicken and Chips – £7.00
  • 2 Sausage and Chips – £5.80
  • Vegetarian option* and Chips – £6.50

* There are many vegetarian options – Mark will be able to give more information when you book.

Of course – if you don’t fancy fish and chips, you are quite welcome to bring your own food and join us at dinner time!

Ceilidh

Our usual ceilidh will be held on Saturday evening, starting at 19:30 after the Harvest Supper, and also in the Fairground Hall.

This is an informal folk dance evening, interspersed with song, poetry or music. You can bring your own refreshments, although tea and coffee is provided in the interval.

  • After 1 mile the pub is on the right
  • Go through the car park and follow signs to the site

Local information

Shops

The garage over the road stocks basics (milk, papers, etc.) and there is also a farm shop nearby.

Andover is a short drive away (Asda, Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s).

Eating out

The Weyhill Fair pub is on site, and The Lion at Clanville (a mile and a half away) is highly recommended.

Pink Olive Indian restaurant is close by.

Transport

The Activ8 bus provides a frequent service from the site to both Andover and Salisbury.
