Folk Group Autumn Gather

Camerton is on the edge of the Mendip Hills, with beautiful countryside and good walks on the doorstep. The cities of Bath, Bristol and Wells are also in easy reach.

We camp on the field at Camerton Community Hall, and will be using the hall on site over the weekend for our activities. Showers and toilet facilities are also available to us for the whole weekend.

The site opens at 2pm on Thursday, and closes on Tuesday. The stewards for this meet are Mark and Stella, who can be contacted by email at info@wessexfdsg.org, or via the Wessex mobile phone on 07340 248 577.

What’s on

Ceilidhs

As this is a long weekend meet, we will be holding three evening ceilidhs. These will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings in the hall on site, starting at 7.30pm.

These are informal folk dance evenings with a live band, interspersed with song and music from our members. You can bring your own refreshments, although tea and coffee is provided in the interval.

Craft and Music

The hall will be open at various times over the weekend for craft activities, music sessions and workshops. See the notice board on site for more details of these.

Members Meeting

This will be held in the hall on Saturday afternoon, and is your opportunity to have a say in the running of the Folk Group.

Raffle

We will be holding a raffle, with the proceeds going to the charity the Wessex Area is supporting this year. This is the The Castle School in Newbury, which caters for children with a variety of complex learning difficulties from the ages of 3 to 19.
