February 2022

Our last meet of 2021 was our Christmas Party at Ibsley. Although a small meet, it was perfectly formed – a film show in the afternoon, followed by Christmas Carols led by Mike, and then an evening of entertainment and dancing, run to perfect order by Mel, with dad-jokes provided by Paul!

By the time this arrives, we will have said goodbye to the dark evenings of Winter and be looking forward to the new camping season. Our meet at Wildhern for the May Day weekend will be our normal festivities – the Maypole and our Penny Fair. It also includes our AGM, when our committee will be elected. We have vacancies, so now is your chance!

Our meet at Kilima Farm (near Lacock) is a good place to park your unit while you attend the Chippenham Folk Festival. Held in the lovely town of Chippenham, this festival includes both paid and free events – you can attend one of the many workshops, concerts and ceilidhs, or wander through the town and sample the food and beer/cider on offer while watching the many Morris teams perform. More details about who is appearing, along with ticket information, can be found on their website.

The field at Kilima Farm where we are holding our meet is in a beautiful location, just outside the National Trust village of Lacock – a perfect place to wander around and spot which buildings have appeared in which period drama! Please note – we are not organising a hall/dance for this weekend as there is plenty to do in Chippenham over the weekend. However, there will still be social activities and get-togethers on the field.
