Christmas Party

This is our last event of the 2026 season. This year we are holding the party at Ibsley Village Hall, which is right on the edge of the New Forest.

The site opens at 2pm on Thursday, DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE 2PM AS THERE WILL BE NOWHERE TO STOP OR PARK, and closes on Sunday at 1pm. The stewards for this meet can be contacted by email before the meet at info@wessexfdsg.org

The hall will be open for use from Thursday afternoon through to Sunday morning. The field here is not accessible, so all units will camp on the hardstanding area around the hall.

As this is a special meet, fees are slightly different to our normal pricing structure. The cost of the meet is £20 per night for a couple, or £15 per night for singles. If you are just coming out for the day, the cost will be £6 per person. Fees will be taken on Friday evening, either by bank transfer (preferred) or cash.

• From Salisbury take the A338 South to Fordingbridge.

  • Continue beyond Fordingbridge for 3 miles.

  • After the Old Beams Inn, turn left signed South Gorley and Mockbeggar.

  • In ½ mile, at the crossroads turn left.

  • The hall is ¼ mile on the right, up a short track.

• From Ringwood take the A338 north for 2½ miles.

  • Turn right just before the Old Beams Inn, then as above.

What’s on

For those camping, the hall will be available all weekend.

Play-ups /crafts/jigsaw puzzles and Quiz

Thursday evening

The hall is open from arrival at 2pm, join us in the hall for a hot drink and biscuits’, and if you wish help to decorate the hall for the weekend.

In the evening from 5:30 in the hall, we will be offering two types of soup, a vegetarian and gluten free option with crusty bread / rolls. Following this will be a chance to chat, catch-up, play some music and have a sing-a-round.

Friday

We start the day at 9:30 with some gentle chair exercises to get the day started.

10:30 will be bacon rolls and a cuppa!

Perhaps, if the weather is kind, a stroll to Hockey’s Farm Shop and Farmyard Café or a walk to Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve, good for bird watching with six specialized bird hides.

In the afternoon craft activity led by Melanie, board games and play-up.

7pm Cheese and crackers, brink a piece of your favourite cheese to share. A selection of crackers - including GF, will be provided. Followed by a sing-a-round.

Saturday

9:30 Chair yoga

10:30 Christmas movie and popcorn!

After lunch, craft activity lead by Kirsty, Music session and games, Chat etc.

We will be holding a ‘bring-and-share’ supper starting at 5.30pm.

We are providing cold meats and a vegetarian alternative, please bring a side eg., salad, quiche, mini sausages etc., or a dessert, to share with the group.

Christmas Ceilidh

We hope to make the evening have a real party atmosphere, so we encourage you to enter into the Christmas spirit with seasonal dress, a celebratory drink, or just whatever you feel comfortable with!

The ceilidh starts at 7pm on Saturday, with Christmas Carols, and will feature our usual range of dancing, music, singing and other entertainment. There will also be a raffle for our chosen charity called during the evening coffee break.

Sunday

For those who are staying over, there will be a coffee morning in the hall on Sunday morning at 10.30am, and the site will close at 12:00 noon.
