Wessex Area AGM

We will be meeting for the day in the Fairground Hall at Weyhill, which is about 3 miles west of Andover. The hall will be open from 2pm.

As this is a Saturday social event, camping for the weekend is not available.

What’s on

The hall will be open from 2pm onwards for members to use as a social space and refreshments.

AGM & Members Meeting

The Wessex Area AGM will take place in the hall starting at 4pm, with signing in from 3.30pm. Please remember to bring your membership cards.

The AGM will be followed at 4.30pm by a Members Meeting.

Bring-and-Share Tea

We will be holding a ‘bring-and-share’ tea starting around 5.30pm. Please bring a plate of your favourite food to share with the group.

Ceilidh

Our usual ceilidh will be held on Saturday evening, starting at 7pm.

This is an informal folk dance evening, interspersed with song, poetry or music. You can bring your own refreshments, although tea and coffee is provided in the interval.

  • From the A303 take exit signed A342 Devizes
  • At roundabout take exit singed A342 Devizes/Weyhill
  • After 1 mile turn right at the roundabout.
  • Follow this road into the Fairground Craft & Design Centre car park.

Local information

Shops

The garage over the road stocks basics (milk, papers, etc.) and there is also a farm shop nearby.

Andover is a short drive away (Asda, Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s).

Eating out

The Fairground Cafe on site is open until 3pm.

The Lion at Clanville (a mile and a half away) is highly recommended, and the Pink Olive Indian restaurant is close by.

There is also a wide range of pubs and restaurants in and around Andover.

Transport

The Activ8 bus provides a frequent service to both Andover and Salisbury.
