Help for using our Forum

This is a members-only forum, where current members of the Wessex Folk Group can chat online. All users of this forum must follow our Community Rules.


This is a closed forum, which means that it is only accessible to registered members.

To register for access, click 'Register' on the login page, or go directly to the Forum Registration Page.

You will need to complete the following fields:
  • User Name - Choose a unique user name to use on this forum. It must be at least 5 characters long, with no spaces.
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Password - Your password must be 8 characters or more, including at least one lowercase letter, one uppercase letter and one number.
  • Confirm Password
  • E-mail Address
  • Membership No - Enter your Camping and Caravanning Club membership number. This will be checked against our membership list.
After you have submitted your registration we will review your details, and will send you an email when your registration has been approved.
To login to the Forum, click on 'Forum' in the main menu at the top of the page, or go directly to the the Forum Login Page.

This will take you to the login page where you should enter your username or email address and your password.

If you have forgotten your password, click on 'Forgot your password' near the bottom of the page.

If you have forgotten the email address or username you used to register for the Forum, then please send an email to forum@wessexfdsg.org and we will be able to help you.
Subscriptions allow you to receive a notification by email whenever a new post is added to a particular forum or to a specific topic.

To subscribe to one individual topic you should click on 'Subscribe to this topic' at the bottom of the page after the last post.

To subscribe to all topics in a specific forum you should click on 'Subscribe to this forum' at the bottom of the forum index page.

You can manage your subscription settings and individual subscriptions by clicking on Subscriptions on the Forum menu near the top of the page. This also gives you options to be notified about all new topics (across all forums), or all new topics and all new posts (in all forums).

You can add a picture which will be displayed on every post you make to the Forum. You can also add a short introduction to tell people something about yourself.

Start by clicking on 'Profile' in the Forum menu near the top of the page. Then click on 'Edit Profile' near the bottom of the page.

Add your picture or your introduction, and click on 'Update Profile'. Then click on 'Forum' in the main menu to go back to the Forum.

The @mention feature allows you to reference other Forum users in your posts. You can mention as many users as you need, and each user who is referenced will then automatically receive an email with a link to the topic in question.

Note: Being mentioned does not mean you are automatically subscribed. You are simply being mentioned and being alerted that you were mentioned. If others also mention you, you will receive additional notifications each time.

To mention another user in your post, type their username preceded by an '@' symbol (for example. typing @camping123 would reference somebody with a username of 'camping123'). To make this easier the Forum will start suggesting usernames as you type.

After submitting your post you will see the username mentioned in the post as a link to that person, and they will also automatically receive an email with a link to your post.

If you have forgotten your password, click on 'Forgot your password' near the bottom of the Forum Login Page.  You will then be sent an email with a a link to reset your password.
