This is summary of our activities for the past couple of months, written by our Secretary (Anna).

October 2018

The wind and rain tried their best, but did not dampen our spirits at Fort Widley, where we celebrated our chairman Sarah's birthday with traditional party games. It was an exciting afternoon, with disqualifications from the egg and spoon race, and blatant sabotage in the pin the tail on the donkey! In the evening we were treated to a wonderful chocolate cake baked by Caroline.

The August bank holiday weekend was spent at Fordingbridge and although it was another soggy one, we had two enjoyable dances.

A last-minute change at Dummer Farm near Basingstoke meant that we didn't have space to have a dance on the Saturday evening, but instead a quiz put together by Caroline, Charles and myself. Rounds included name the tune, folk group history, general knowledge, and building a tower from cocktail sticks and marshmallows! It was great to have something a little bit different, though we'll enjoy getting back to dancing.

Coming up is our harvest supper at Wildhern, near Andover. Although we're at a different venue, we still have great food - this year baked potatoes with a range of toppings - and live music to dance to in the evening from Wild Wood.

Our Halloween party is at Ballard School in New Milton and we're looking forward to a 'ghostly supper' and some fab Halloween costumes!
